AI-based ed-tech firm SP Robotics expands its operations in three cities

In an effort to grow its business, AI-based ed-tech firm SP Robotic Works said that it will build more than 100 “Maker Labs” in three cities. Sneha Priya and Pranavan S founded the firm, which uses its own AI-based instructor dubbed “SPARKY” to make learning fun for consumers. With aspirations to expand into math and science, it is now employing its pedagogy to include its pupils in robotics, drone, and coding technologies. The business is accessible online in 14 different countries.

Additionally, it has 75 sites across India under the name “SP Robotics Maker Lab,” which is an omnichannel presence. In these laboratories, students may also study with animations and real-world ideas thanks to the AI-enabled computers, Robotic/Drone Kits, and other Maker Kits.

Pranavan S, co-founder of SP Robotics Maker Lab said, “We are thrilled to set up these Maker Labs so that kids may spend two to four hours a week working on their cognitive development and problem-solving abilities after school or on the weekends. We have this franchise model because we want to work with local partners that have the same vision and ideals to build a Maker Lab centre in their locality.”

The Chennai-based startup raised $3 million in Series A funding in 2021, with help from Mount Judi India Growth Fund, BCCL, and existing investors like Indian Angel Network, Ajai Chowdhry (founder of HCL), and Raman Roy (chairman and managing director of Quatrro), among others. Mount Judi India Growth Fund led the round, with participation from BCCL.
