Indian Startups follow US for 2022 list of Y combinator’s Top Companies


In the current edition of startup accelerator Y Combinator’s ‘Top Companies’ ranking for 2022, Indian startups secured second to the United States. In Y Combinator’s top startup list, which comprised over 260 firms from the accelerator’s portfolio, fintech unicorn Razorpay, which was valued at $7.5 billion in December last year, topped the charts among Indian startups. In the current edition of startup accelerator Y Combinator’s ‘Top Companies’ ranking for 2022, Indian startups come in second to the United States.

Meesho, Clear, Groww, and Khatabook were among the ten Indian businesses on the list. Instawork, Zepto, and FamPay were new entrants to the total list this year from India. Y Combinator’s efforts to double concentrate on overseas geographies and make investments are reflected in the fact that 28 percent of the new startups on the list were outside of its home market in the United States.

Over the last two years, Y Combinator has witnessed a large surge in applications from India.

More than 260 of the startup accelerator’s portfolio firms are worth more than $150 million, and more than 60 are ‘unicorns,’ or companies worth $1 billion or more, according to the company.
