Indian start-up announces 30-min nap break for employees every day

Wakefit Solution recently launched an initiative to monitor employee well-being by offering daily afternoon siesta. Few people don’t feel the need for a power nap at work during a busy week and caffeine pumping seems to be the only solution ever available. But what changes the equation is the Indian startup that announced an official lunch break at work for everyone.
The Wakefit Solution recently launched an initiative to monitor employee well-being. As a direct sales brand for home and sleep solutions, the policy seems to be in perfect agreement with the company. In a recent internal email sent to employees, Wakefit co-founder Chaitanya Ramalingegowda announced that employees are now able to take a short nap from 2 pm to 2:30 pm .. “We’ve been working on sleep issues for over six years, but we still don’t justify the afternoon nap, which is an important aspect of recovery. We’ve always taken naps seriously. But we’re going one step further from today”, writes Lamarin Gegouda.
Citing research that recommended afternoon naps are related to higher overall performance and productivity, he wrote: “A NASA study exhibits that a 26-minute catnap can beautify overall performance by 33% whilst a Harvard study suggests how naps save you from burnout.”
To make the noble initiative work, the organization on Twitter introduced that they may block the calendar for all its personnel throughout the time specified for afternoon naps.
For the uninitiated, Wakefit carried out a ‘Right to Work Naps’ survey in 2019, in which 70% of 1,500 respondents stated they do now no longer have a ‘nap room’ at work, and 86% felt having one might increase their productivity.
The assertion took many by surprise. A few desired the equal to be carried out at their workplace, others opined this can now no longer be appropriate for all industries.
Employees’ professional well-being and stability appear to have end up being focal factors of many start-ups in India. Another company, Zerodha, had formerly received lots of appreciation after their CEO post about ending after 6 pm went viral.
