Indian Services Firm Urban Company Expands to UAE, Reshuffles Board to Support Global Growth
Urban Company, India’s leading services marketplace connecting consumers with home and wellness professionals, has announced its strategic expansion into the United Arab Emirates by incorporating a new step-down subsidiary under its Singapore-based entity, Urban Home Experts Pte Ltd. The company has cleared an initial investment of ₹3 crore (approximately $360,000) to fund the UAE operation, marking a key step in its international growth ambitions.
The UAE entity will focus on general trading activities, including supplying products to third-party service providers and aggregators affiliated with Urban Company’s platform in the region. It will also facilitate the sales of Urban Company’s proprietary product lines, such as the “Native” brand, which includes smart water purifiers and electronic door locks, to consumers and service partners in the UAE.
This expansion builds on Urban Company’s existing presence and partnership ecosystem in the Middle East, including agreements with regional players like Noon to offer home services across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The move reflects the company’s refined global strategy emphasizing partnerships and localized subsidiaries to accelerate market penetration rather than building standalone operations from scratch.
Simultaneously, Urban Company has reshuffled its board of directors to strengthen governance and leadership aligned with its growth plans. Key changes include the transition of Vamsi Krishna Duvvuri from Executive Director to Non-Executive Director, ensuring continuity and stability at the management level while allowing new members to bring fresh perspectives.
Financially, Urban Company reported a 37% year-on-year revenue increase to ₹380 crore in the September 2025 quarter, driven by robust performance in both India and international markets like the UAE and Singapore. While investments in new verticals such as Insta Help have resulted in near-term losses, the company’s core services remain profitable, underpinning confidence in its growth trajectory.
Abhiraj Bhal, CEO and Co-founder, emphasized the significance of the UAE expansion: “Our entry into the UAE is part of our larger vision to build a global services platform. We are committed to delivering quality, tech-enabled services and trusted consumer products while fostering strong local partnerships.”
In summary, Urban Company’s expansion into the UAE and board restructuring underscore its ambition to become a global leader in the services and consumer durables space. These strategic moves aim to deepen market presence, diversify revenue streams, and maintain strong governance as the company pursues sustainable international growth.
