Bengaluru-based Codeyoung, an edtech platform specializing in live one-on-one online classes for children aged 5 to 17, has successfully raised $5 million in its Series A funding round. The round was co-led by 12 Flags Group and Enzia Ventures and also facilitated an exit for some early investors.
Founded in 2020 by IIT Delhi alumni Shailendra Dhakad and Rupika Taneja, Codeyoung offers a wide range of subjects including coding, math, English, science, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and SAT preparation. The platform has delivered over 20 lakh (2 million) hours of teaching to more than 25,000 students spread across 15 countries, with a majority of its revenue currently coming from North America.
Codeyoung’s approach focuses on building lasting learning habits by combining skilled educators with visible learning progress and measurable outcomes. The company’s AI-powered learning assistant “NOAH” and proprietary Sandbox learning system help deliver personalized learning experiences tailored to each child’s pace and style.
“Our model puts outcomes first,” said Co-founder and CEO Shailendra Dhakad. “Students learn at their own pace, while parents have full visibility into their child’s progress. Families across the world want dependable, measurable, and personalized learning. This investment allows us to bring that experience to more children globally.”
The funding will be used to accelerate international market expansion, develop new AI-driven personalization features, and introduce additional learning categories to meet diverse student needs.
Rupika Taneja, Co-founder and COO, emphasized the importance of quality at scale, which comes from selective hiring, structured training, regular audits, and open communication with parents to ensure consistent learning outcomes.
Namita Dalmia, Co-founder and Partner at Enzia Ventures, noted: “Edtech growth is challenged by sustaining trust without measurable outcomes and managing financial discipline during expansion. Codeyoung stands out for building trust through tangible results and disciplined scaling.”
The company competes with established platforms such as WhiteHat Jr, Vedantu, Cuemath, and BYJU’S, differentiating itself through its one-on-one, outcome-based teaching model and focus on global learners.
Recently named “Edtech Startup of the Year” at the Entrepreneur Startup Awards 2025, Codeyoung continues forging ahead with a subscription-led model exhibiting strong customer retention, course completion rates above 80%, renewals over 60%, and a net promoter score above 65.
With this fresh capital infusion, Codeyoung aims to solidify its position as a global leader in skill-focused, personalized online education for children and expand its impact in the evolving global edtech landscape.
