Ather Energy, an electric two-wheeler manufacturer, said on Tuesday that it has secured a multi-year arrangement to be the primary partner of the newly founded Ahmedabad-based Indian Premier League (IPL) team Gujarat Titans.
The Ather Energy brand will be on the front of the Gujarat Titans’ official team jerseys starting this season in 2022, according to a statement from the company, which did not specify the duration of the deal.
Beyond reach, the IPL has the distinct advantage of being a sporting event that appeals to people of all ages and genders, engaging the entire family.
The reach of the IPL, according to Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, is a great platform for driving rapid brand awareness. The electric vehicle manufacturer currently operates 30 experience centers in 24 cities across India.
Ather Energy, which boasted a monthly growth rate of 20% last year, plans to expand its retail presence across the country by March 2023, with 150 experience centers in 100 cities.
Hardik Pandya will captain the Gujarat Titans, who also selected Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill just before bidding. The franchise purchased 21 players in the auction, including Mohammed Shami, Lockie Ferguson, and Jason Roy.
