IIT-Madras Unveils AI-Powered ‘Incubators’ Platform to Streamline Access for Startups

The Centre for Research on Start-ups and Risk Financing (CREST) at IIT-Madras unveiled an information platform for incubators and accelerators on Monday. The launch, officiated by IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, aims to strengthen the incubator ecosystem by addressing a persistent challenge in the entrepreneurial landscape.

Developed in collaboration with YNOS, a startup incubated at IIT Madras, the platform addresses the complexity faced by entrepreneurs due to the dispersed nature of information about the nearly 1,000 active incubators across India. The AI-powered platform, aptly named ‘Incubators,’ seeks to simplify this process, empowering startup founders to easily identify, compare, and analyze incubators nationwide.

Professor A. Thillai Rajan emphasized the significance of such tools, stating, “During the initial few months after incorporation, startups face a high degree of uncertainty. They need a lot of support, handholding, and mentoring as they start finding their bearings.” Incubators play a crucial role in assisting startup founders in navigating this uncertain terrain. The newly introduced platform offers a comprehensive list of incubators in the country, providing startup founders with a resource to seek support. Additionally, it furnishes information on various parameters that aid startup founders in identifying the most suitable incubators for their specific requirements.
