Amey Mashelkar (Head of JioGenNext), Jasminder Singh Gulati (Co-founder at NowFloats), Dr. Raghunath A Mashelkar (Independent Director at RIL), Nilesh Patel (Leadership team, Cisco systems), Dholakia Ventures, and 100X.VC led a $400,000 pre-seed round for Honc, a tech-first firm that provides car washes at the doorstep.
In the coming 12 months, the startup, which is a 100X.VC portfolio company and a member of the Class 06 cohort, wants to use the new capital to extend its partner network across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Gurugram. Using location data and user review systems, honc intends to update its tech stack to scale across gated communities and business parks. The funds will also be used to speed up the onboarding, training, and security of the platform’s partners.
As demand for honc’s doorstep services grows, the company is expanding its offerings to include business parks. In accordance with its expansion goals, honc has recently secured partnerships with corporate/IT parks in three Indian cities.
In the previous six months, the company has helped its partners boost their monthly income by 100%. Furthermore, honc’s eco-friendly washing has helped gated communities save nearly 1,50,000 litres of water each month.
With its managed marketplace approach, honc is playing a major role in India’s car wash industry—which is mostly unorganized and underserved—which was founded in 2020 by Niranjan Seelam and Rahul Marwar. With a curated selection of reputable and reliable partners, the firm offers an on-demand, mobile-first doorstep solution that responds to the spontaneous demands of automobile owners.
