GreenPod Labs an Agri-biotech business has secured Rs 4.3 crore funding

GreenPod Labs, an agri-biotech firm, has secured Rs 4.3 crore in a pre-seed round of funding from investors such as the Indian angel network and Rockstart. GreenPod Labs, which is backed by the Forum for Innovation, Incubation, Research, and Entrepreneurship (FiiRE) Goa, provides packaging that extends the shelf life of fruits and vegetables.
GreenPod Labs was founded in 2019 by Deepak Rajmohan and Vijay Anand with the goal of reducing fresh produce loss. The new funding will be utilized for research and development as well as scaling up operations.
GreenPod Labs received Rs 7.5 lakh from FiiRE’s Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS). The Centre supports FiiRE, which is designated as an incubator.
GreenPod Labs created biotech-based sachets as a reenPod Labs developed biotech-based sachets as a cost-effective post-harvest bespoke packing solution for fruit and vegetables, according to D S Prashant, FiiRE’s chief executive officer.
GreenPod Labs plans to deploy bio-sachet solutions for three crops this year, as well as development on four other biotech items.
FiiRE was founded in 2018 at Don Bosco College of Engineering, and the Margao-based technology company incubator was selected in July 2021 as a recipient of financing from the Startup India Seed Fund initiative.
