Google has signed a long-term agreement with Indian renewable energy firm ReNew Energy Global to develop a 150 MW solar project in Rajasthan, expanding ReNew’s commercial and industrial portfolio to 2.7 GW.
Under the partnership, Google will procure the project’s energy attributes, ensuring financial viability while advancing its value chain decarbonisation goals. The facility, slated for commissioning in 2026, is expected to generate 425,000 MWh of clean electricity annually—enough to power over 360,000 households.
ReNew, one of India’s largest independent power producers with a 18 GW clean energy portfolio, highlighted the deal as a milestone in corporate clean energy adoption. The project aligns with India’s 500 GW non-fossil fuel target by 2030 and Google’s broader sustainability commitments in the region.
