GoKwik appoints Amazon’s Pranav Merchant as Head of Operations.

GoKwik, an ecommerce enablement business, has hired Pranav Merchant as its new head of operations, according to a statement released on Monday. Merchant’s new role will include strategizing the organization’s overall operational intricacies, stakeholder management, and furthering the brand’s goal of becoming a preferred partner of D2C e-commerce merchants for all their conversion, cart abandonment, return to the origin, and customer acquisition costs problems.
He will be putting customer insights into action and working with upstream and downstream teams to create a more scalable and adaptable solution that merchants can use, thanks to his extensive experience and understanding of organizational development.
Prior to joining GoKwik, Pranav had senior positions at Amazon, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, and Aditya Birla Group, where he oversaw operational setup and process stabilization. He spearheaded the formation of a new node for the compliance operations team at Amazon in Pune, which grew to 900+ resources over the last five years.
The company currently has 150+ employees and is growing at an annual rate of 80% in a 100% remote environment. It has raised over Rs 150 crore in funding from Sequoia Capital India, Matrix Partners India, RTP Global, and notable angel investors.
Chirag Taneja, Vivek Bajpai (chief technology officer), and Ankush Talwar (chief data scientist) founded GoKwik in 2020 to address e-commerce concerns such as raising cash-on-delivery and check-out conversion rates and lowering client return orders. GoKwik, which is supported by Sequoia Cash India, Matrix Partners India, RTP Global, and notable angel investors, secured more than Rs 150 crore in the capital in November last year.
