Entri.app, an ed-tech startup, has raised $7 million in a Series A round of funding

Entri, a Kochi-based online learning platform that enables applicants via regional language lessons, has secured $7 million in a Series A round-headed by Omidyar Network India, and participation from Boston-based Innospark Ventures and Hong Kong-based private equity firm Integrated Capital.
This round of investment follows the company’s initial round of $3.1 million, bringing the total amount raised to $10.1 million.
Among some of the angel investors were Gokul Rajaram, a board member of Pinterest and Coinbase, and Sriram Krishnan, a partner at Andreessen Horowitz (A16Z), a Silicon Valley venture capital company.
Entri.app, which was founded by Mohammed Hisamuddin and Rahul Ramesh in 2017, claims to have more than eight million registered users and over 250,000 paying customers. It provides over 500 courses in eight languages – Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Odiya – to assist applicants in preparing for various government employment examinations as well as improving their private career prospects.
Coding, Personal Finance, Spoken English, State PSC Exams, Nursing Certifications, Teacher Exams, and Engineering Technical Exams are among the most popular course categories.

Entri Gold is a cohort-based course offered by the corporation that pairs a group of students with an expert mentor who speaks their native language. Through live interactive lectures, analytics, community group activities, and individualized advice, the mentor guarantees that the batch of aspirants achieves their objective. With the aid of the Entri Gold program, more than 25,000 pupils claim to have aced a government employment exam.
Entri.app has teamed with a variety of content providers (both online and offline) to produce high-quality material, including coaching institutions, educators, and influencers. For its skilling classes, the firm has so far signed up 30 influencers in various languages with a combined following of 20 million subscribers, with plans to sign up 100 more by 2022. Entri.app has bought the TS Madaan YouTube channel, one of India’s leading skilling YouTube channels with over 11 million followers, as part of its creator model.
