Emerging technology startups are key to India’s future economy says Jitendra Singh

According to him, and in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, India is on the verge of a geospatial revolution, and healthy cooperation between the public sector, private sector, and scientific community will greatly increase economic output and aid India in becoming a 10 trillion dollar economy by 2030. The minister expressed his gratitude to the Survey of India, IIIT Hyderabad, Microsoft India, and the Ministry of Science and Technology for organising, taking part in, and designing the Geospatial Hackathon. He claimed that this event would serve as a formal launchpad for India’s geospatial strategy and policy, which aims to make the country a global leader in the geospatial field in the future. He was grateful to all the cooperating organisations, academic institutions, research centres, businesses, and think tanks that have joined the admirable endeavour.

According to Jitendra Singh, the goal of this hackathon is to encourage collaborations between the public and private geospatial sectors as well as to improve the geospatial start-up ecosystem in our nation.

He continued by saying that our nation urgently needs accurate geospatial information for efficient policy making, project programming, and operation in order to meet the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
