EduTech Start-up: Uppskill raises worth Rs. $100k via Ok! Acquired


Uppskill, an ed-tech startup, announced a raise of $100k from Bengaluru-based Investment Tech startup, Ok! Acquired and its investors. For Uppskill, this is the first institutional round of seed funding. The current valuation of Uppskill now stands at $1 million, with this new round of seed funding. Uppskill is a skill-based educational platform, co-founded by entrepreneurs Arbab Usmani & Abhishek Kumar Gupta. It changes people’s way of learning and develops skills required in order to acquire jobs or help them directly in their businesses.

Arbab and Abhishek, a thought leader in the Industry, were the first one to start many things in the industry, such as teaching Influencer marketing, problem-solving, neuromarketing, and

critical thinking, community building etc. The entrepreneur duo’s institute became one of the first to begin issuing certificates using blockchain technology in July 2019, as a step towards revolutionising the digital sphere of education and training in India.

In order to build its tech platform further and expand in different training areas such as sales, operations, finances, and tech, the online educational platform intends to use these funds.

Further, to expand to more cities for offline training and customised corporate training for groups and individuals, this round of fundings will be used.

Uppskill

Arbab Usmani, Co-Founder and CEO, Uppskill said in a statement that “We aim to empower more people and make our ecosystem better, with this partnership. We will use this fund in order to scale our learning platform by investing in Technology so that we can impact more lives and empower more students.”

Uppskill, a community of 27,000+ members, has played a pivotal role in education in

marketing, but they would like to grow and empower more people through their courses, in the future. The Uppskill team is ready to face new goals and targets on the near horizon after being backed with the seed funding by Ok! Acquired. Joint efforts of Ok! Acquired and Uppskill are now working towards their main goal of sustainability and growth in the digital tech sector and growing together in the new, digital India. The day-to-day activity of Uppskill is handled by Arbab.

Subh Jha & Sujit Jha – Co-founders, ok! Acquired said in a statement that “India with its 1.2 billion population has an enormous demand for education in its core. Hence, we want to penetrate the 101 billion edtech market, with Uppskill’s deep understanding of this market. We firmly believe that we will be able to unleash student potential in order to learn and earn from Tier-2 and 3 cities with the Upskill team.”

To bridge the gap between digital training & Indian citizens every day by helping them with relevant training & learning is the vision of Uppskill. Funding from the digital marketplace, Ok! Acquired helps them expand their efforts so as to work on this vision with more tech developments and teachings.
