Digit Insurance announces Jasleen Kohli as the new MD and CEO

Canadian billionaire Prem Watsa backed Digit Insurance declared Jasleen Kohli its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, from April 20th, 2022. Kohli, who worked as the chief distribution officer (CDO) since 2017, shall supersede Vijay Kumar, who has been the chief executive officer since the establishment of the company in 2017. Kohli, who also served as the Director at Alliance Technology before joining Digital Insurance, will be one of the youngest CEOs in the insurance industry.
“I am delighted about this new responsibility entrusted in me by the Digit team. While it will be hard to fill Vijay’s experienced shoes, I am excited about this challenge,” Kohli mentioned.
Since its inception, the start-up has dealt in motor insurance and commercial fire insurance, adding health insurance and travel insurance to its product mix in 2020.
The outgoing CEO, Vijay Kumar, also expressed his confidence in Jasleen Kohli in execution of Digital Insurance’s ambitious expansion plans. Kamesh Goyal, chairman, Digit Insurance, said, “ Jasleen’s agile market strategies and her prudent operational planning have aided the company in expanding its presence at an accelerated pace despite the pandemic….”
