Digital Studio Startup Content Engineers raises $50 million in fresh funding round

Film and digital studio startup Content Engineers has recently announced that it has raised a sum of $50 million (a little over INR 370 crores) in a funding round led by a technology consulting and angel investing enterprise Veear Projects Inc.
The company officials have highlighted that the proceeds from the fresh round of funding will be utilised towards creating intellectual properties of creative content. The same would include feature films, web series, documentaries and docudramas which will in turn cater to the theatrical and OTT space of the country.
The film and digital studio brand is led by ex-Jio Studios Chief Marketing Officer Saurabh Varma and ex-Cinepolis Gulf and Sony Pictures executive Utpal Acharya. The firm plans to set up its ideation cell, media-tech initiatives, technology innovations, VFX studios, post-production unit and a virtual production and script lab in the coming years. The team will consist of writers, storytellers and content creators from all across India, including Tier II and Tier III towns, with a key focus on commercially viable original and unexplored stories, it added.
