Chennai-based laundry-tech startup Dhobi G has secured fresh funding of ₹1.5 crore from Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) to accelerate its growth in campus laundry services across India.
Founded by three engineering graduates — Ravi Ranjan (CEO), Ankur Gupta (COO), and Daksh Sabharwal (CMO) — Dhobi G operates a technology-enabled platform that provides professionally managed laundry services to universities and colleges.
The newly raised funds will be used to expand operations into five additional campuses, targeting over 20,000 students in the next 12 months. The startup’s model leverages automation, streamlined logistics, and reliability — key elements that help it stand out in India’s largely unorganised laundry sector.
According to the founders, Dhobi G began as a solution to their own hostel laundry frustrations and has evolved into a scalable, tech-driven business. The investment from Indian Overseas Bank marks a strong endorsement of Dhobi G’s vision and the growing investor confidence in innovation-led service models in India.
With this funding, Dhobi G plans to strengthen its base in Chennai while expanding into Bengaluru, Coimbatore, and other cities in northern India. The company aims to emerge as a leading organised player in the student laundry space, offering efficient, affordable, and dependable services across campuses.
For students and institutions alike, Dhobi G represents a new wave of professionalism and innovation transforming everyday essentials in India’s evolving startup landscape.
