CDO Sumit Mahajan leads a 6-month SHG growth initiative in Saharanpur; SkillingYou joins as knowledge and execution partner

On 23rd Dec 25, a special interaction program was held at the CDO Auditorium for the Self Help Group (SHG) women of Saharanpur. The SHG members arrived with their products and shared their work, challenges, and aspirations. The focus of the session was to understand how their products can be improved in terms of quality, packaging, branding and market readiness.
Chief Development Officer Shri Sumit Mahajan (IAS) has taken a personal interest in strengthening SHGs and decided to launch a six-month development initiative aimed at upgrading their products and expanding their income opportunities. Under this campaign, SHG members will receive training, expert guidance, packaging support, pricing insights and market linkages so their products can gain better recognition and reach larger markets.
Addressing the SHG women, CDO Sumit Mahajan said that the administration’s effort is to help them refine their existing work and turn it into a stronger source of livelihood. He appreciated their hard work and assured them that the next few months will bring structured support to help them grow.
To implement this effort effectively, the district administration has engaged SkillingYou as the knowledge and execution partner. Representatives from SkillingYou, including CEO Praveen Kumar Rajbhar and CA Arjun Mittal, attended the program. They reviewed the SHG products closely, discussed improvements with the groups, and began preparing a detailed growth roadmap. This will include product enhancement, modern packaging, branding, digital presence and long-term marketing support.
Speaking at the event, Praveen Kumar Rajbhar said that Saharanpur’s SHG products already have strong potential and, with the right positioning and packaging, can reach a much wider audience. He shared that SkillingYou will work closely with the administration over the next six months to create and implement a complete growth plan for SHGs.
The program was coordinated by Program Director Shri Pranay, who said that his mission is to help SHG women achieve a better standard of living and sustainable income through continuous support.
This initiative is expected to strengthen SHG livelihoods, improve product quality and create new opportunities for women entrepreneurs across Saharanpur.
