Carbon adds new M3 and M3 Max models to its workhorse 3D printer line.

Carbon, a 3D printing powerhouse, unveiled its next-generation 3D printing workhorses, the Carbon M3 and M3 Max, today. The printers, which are aimed at high-end prototype and manufacturing processes, are available as subscription packages and include a number of enhancements and improvements over previous-generation printers.
Simplified printer experiences with better control over the print process, minimising failure modes, is one of the new range’s strengths. The printers feature a larger design space, allowing users to construct parts that previous generations of printers couldn’t, allowing for new geometries and high-strength parts to be created.
The printers can print faster with better heat management (both heating and heat diffusion), and the improved resolution results in smoother products and more precision for 3D-printed surface finishes. The printers can also print with greater reproducibility, which means that each part will have less variability.
The M3 Max printer has a larger build area than the M3, with the same pixel size and density as its smaller brother. This makes the M3 Max better suited manufacturing larger parts, as well as generating many smaller parts . The corporation is unusually tight-lipped about the new printers’ pricing, no doubt because it’s playing the enterprise game of charging as much as the market would bear.
