The latest development comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a 5G Test Bed in India for startups to test mobile network use cases.

Kaitki Agarwal, Rajesh Mishra, Kartik Raval, and Ravi Nathwani founded A5G in 2020 to provide autonomous mobile network infrastructure solutions for 4G and 5G networks, as well as wifi software. According to the startup, its IP helps reduce capital and operating expenditures, reduce energy requirements, and improve user experience.

A5G partnered with telecom operator Vodafone Idea in February of this year to launch a pilot private network in Mumbai using existing 4G spectrum.

According to the company, A5G is a member of Nephio and Intel® Network Builders.

Bharat Innovation Fund, on the other hand, was founded in 2015 by Kunal Upadhyay and invests in early and growth-stage companies. It primarily focuses on deep-tech startups that are IP (intellectual property) driven.

The 5G protocol, which is very similar to the 4G stack, will provide mobile users with increased bandwidth, high speed, and low latency. The long-awaited 5G stack in India will be available in September of this year.

According to TRAI, 5G services will be available by the end of this year (2022). The introduction of 5G services will usher in a “new realm in service quality as well as new types of services.”

TRAI’s base price for 5G airwaves was reportedly approved by the Digital Communication Commission (DCC) around the same time. The body also approved TRAI’s plan to auction off 5G spectrum for 20 years.

As the 5G spectrum auction date approaches, Reliance Jio has begun experimenting with its 5G stack. In addition to experimenting with retail experiences, the telecom operator recently tested a 5G stack on virtual reality-enabled multiplayer cloud gaming segments.

On this development, Aayush Bhatnagar, senior vice president, Jio said, “The future of buying is in the metaverse, and 5G opens up new opportunities for ecommerce 4.0. Jio’s 5G technology is best suited for delivering this experience for consumers and merchants.”
