BharatPe stated in a statement that the board has followed due procedure in all of its activities in the best interests of the firm and that it has yet to get an interim of the final governance review report, notwithstanding the claims made against board members.
Grover took a leave of absence until the end of March amid backlash over his abusive language to a Kotak employee, toxic culture at BharatPe, and brash behaviour. The board of directors of BharatPe is undertaking a forensic inquiry of the company’s activities, which includes accounting, approval processes, costs, and employment.

While Grover and the company have tried to strike a conciliatory tone in public so far, this is the first time that the divisions are so open and clear, even as the firm’s governance and business operations come under more scrutiny. This confirms what insiders have been saying over the last week: the board is not keen on Grover returning.
The antagonism occurred only weeks after Sameer offered him a public vote of confidence, declaring that Ashneer had “zero chance” of leaving BharatPe since he was so important to the firm. They accepted Grover’s recommendation to take a leave of absence only when they realised the situation had been exaggerated. Grover, on the other hand, disputed this, claiming that being on leave till the end of March was never his decision and that he was instead duped by Sameer and the company’s chief counsel, Sumeet Singh.
