About $50 mn invested in Atlan by Salesforce Ventures, others


Atlan Pvt Ltd, a Data collaboration software provider raised about $50 million in Series B round from Salesforce Ventures, Insight Partners and Sequoia Capital India.  

In May 2021, it experienced a jump by 4.5X from its last Series A fundraise, and at present around $450 million is the post-money valuation of the company. Alongside when Waterbridge Venture and Sequoia Surge. Bob Muglia, former CEO of Snowflake, invested in Atlan in its Series A round, at the time, Insight Partners led a fundraise of about $16 million. 

Atlan Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of US incorporated Atlan Inc. in the firm’s Singapore entity raised its Series B capital. In order to further scale the team, product and engineering, and go-to-market strategies, the proceeds of the fund raise will be used, said  Prukalpa Sankar, co-founder Atlan. An Esop (Employee Stock Option) buyback of up to $1.5 million has also been planned to be facilitated by the company, it said.

The latest  round also saw participation of Fivetran founder Taylor Brown and ThoughtSpot founder Ajeet Singh. Data teams within corporations collaborate and working together has been helped by Atlan’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product.  

SocialCops is a social data aggregator firm from where Atlan emerged from and including India’s National Data Platform used by the Prime Minister, it was incubated across over 200 data projects.   

The firm said that companies like Plaid, WeWork, Postman, Delhivery, Unilever, and Scripps Health are included as Atlan’s clients. It has a global team which includes the US, India, UK, Canada, Nigeria, Singapore, and the Philippines with over 100 people spread across 12 countries.
