From Treating Critical Illness to Preventing It: Dr. Shrey Kumar Srivastav’s Vision for Accessible Healthcare
- ByStartupStory | November 3, 2026

With over a decade of clinical experience, the physician-entrepreneur is working to bring health assessments and timely medical guidance closer to communities through Doctors On Duty.
For Dr. Shrey Kumar Srivastav, the future of healthcare is not just about treating illnesses when they appear, but also about identifying health risks before they become serious. A Consultant Physician, Assistant Professor of General Medicine, and CEO and Co-founder of Doctors On Duty (DOD), Dr. Srivastav is working at the intersection of clinical medicine and technology to make preventive healthcare more accessible across India.
With over 10 years of experience in clinical practice, his perspective is shaped by years spent treating patients across a range of medical conditions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he managed more than 1,000 critically ill patients-an experience that brought the importance of timely medical intervention into sharp focus. It also informs his approach to healthcare innovation: technology must not replace clinical judgement, but make quality healthcare easier to access.
Taking Healthcare Beyond the Hospital
This philosophy is reflected in his work at DOD, a preventive health-technology company developing AI-enabled Health Kiosks and Health Assessment Pods. Designed to bring health assessments into everyday environments, these solutions enable users to check multiple health parameters within minutes and access doctor consultations through video.
From vital signs and body composition to lung function, ECG and point-of-care tests, the assessments are supported by digital health records and e-prescriptions. DOD’s solutions have been deployed across corporate offices, shopping malls, residential societies and wellness centres in multiple cities across eight Indian states.
The idea is to make health assessments more convenient and accessible, encouraging people to pay attention to their health before symptoms become difficult to ignore.
Building a Connected Healthcare Ecosystem
As CEO and Co-founder, Dr. Srivastav leads DOD’s strategy, product development and growth. His approach extends beyond health-assessment technology to building partnerships with hospitals, corporates, channel partners and government bodies.
DOD is also expanding its digital healthcare ecosystem through its Healthcare App, which helps direct patients to appropriate nearby healthcare facilities, and TB Saathi, a digital solution designed to support treatment adherence in tuberculosis programmes.
Together, these initiatives reflect a broader approach to healthcare access-connecting early assessment with medical guidance and the next steps in care.
Where Clinical Experience Meets Innovation
Alongside his entrepreneurial role, Dr. Srivastav continues to maintain a strong professional and academic foundation. He is a Life Member of the Association of Physicians of India (API) and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), holds a certification in Advanced Sepsis Management, and has published articles in national and international indexed medical journals.
For him, the opportunity lies in making preventive healthcare part of everyday life rather than something people seek only when they are unwell. His vision is to build a nationwide network of health-assessment points that brings early screening and access to doctors closer to communities while working alongside the existing healthcare system.
As India continues to explore technology-led approaches to healthcare delivery, Dr. Srivastav’s work with Doctors On Duty represents an effort to address a fundamental challenge: making timely health assessments and medical guidance more accessible to the people who need them.
