Rentomojo raises Rs 376 Cr from anchor investors ahead of IPO


Furniture and appliance rental platform Rentomojo has secured Rs 376.07 crore from anchor investors ahead of the opening of its initial public offering (IPO).

Rentomojo’s IPO opens for subscription today, September 9, and will close on September 11.

The Bengaluru-based company allotted 93.08 lakh equity shares to anchor investors at Rs 404 apiece, the upper end of its IPO price band. At this price, Rentomojo will command a valuation of around Rs 4,200 crore.

The anchor round saw participation from domestic mutual funds, insurance companies, and pension funds. Key participants included Kotak ELSS Tax Saver Fund, ICICI Prudential Quality Fund, Goldman Sachs India Equity Portfolio, BlackRock Global Funds – India Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, Mirae Asset Great Consumer Fund, Bandhan Innovation Fund, HSBC Mutual Fund, Invesco India, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund and JM Financial Mutual Fund.

Domestic mutual funds received 60,41,249 shares, accounting for 64.90% of the anchor allocation, through 30 schemes across 16 mutual funds, for a total of Rs 244.07 crore. The allocation to life insurance companies and pension funds stood at 12.62 lakh shares, or 13.56% of the anchor portion, worth Rs 51 crore.

According to its RHP, Rentomojo plans to raise Rs 1,255.6 crore through the IPO, comprising a fresh issue of Rs 150 crore and an OFS of 2.73 crore shares worth Rs 1,105.6 crore.

The OFS includes shares sold by existing investors Accel India, Edelweiss, Chiratae Ventures, ValueQuest, Madison India and GMO, along with founder Geetansh Bamania.

Motilal Oswal, Axis Capital and IIFL Capital Services are the book-running lead managers.

Earlier, Entrackr reported that several early Rentomojo investors are set to generate significant returns through the IPO, with some early backers expected to clock up to 152X returns on their OFS.

The company’s revenue from operations rose 45.5% year-on-year to Rs 387 crore in FY26, while profit after tax jumped 142% to Rs 104.2 crore from Rs 43.1 crore in FY25.
