Greater Noida, 1 June 2026: The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, through its Centre for Medical Innovation (CMI-GIMS), successfully organized the GIMS AI Roundtable 2026, bringing together distinguished clinicians, healthcare innovators, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and startups to discuss the future of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare and its responsible adoption in clinical practice.

A major highlight of the event was the launch of “Doctors’ Idea of India”, the Nation’s First Cohort for Doctor Innovators, inaugurated by Padma Shri Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Founder and Chairman of Mahajan Imaging and widely regarded as the “MRI Man of India.”

The initiative aims to empower doctors to transform clinical observations and unmet healthcare needs into innovative, scalable, and impactful healthcare solutions. Through mentorship, clinical validation, incubation support, intellectual property guidance, industry partnerships, and access to funding opportunities, the programme seeks to create a nationwide movement of clinician-led innovation.

The launch took place during the Second Foundation Day celebrations of the Centre for Medical Innovation (CMI-GIMS), which has emerged as a unique hospital-based innovation ecosystem supporting healthcare startups, medical technologies, digital health solutions, and AI-enabled healthcare innovations.

Earlier in the day, renowned radiologist and educator Dr. Harsh Bhayana conducted a Faculty Development Programme on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Education, enabling faculty members and clinicians to explore the growing role of AI in teaching, research, and patient care.

The AI Roundtable featured deliberations on clinical AI deployment, regulatory preparedness, patient safety, ethics, healthcare innovation, and the future of technology-enabled healthcare delivery in India.

The event also showcased promising startups from the GIMS AI Startup Clinic, presenting AI-powered healthcare solutions before clinicians, investors, researchers, and healthcare administrators. The startups demonstrated innovations across diagnostics, clinical decision support, workflow optimization, patient engagement, medical education, and digital healthcare delivery.

Speaking on the occasion, Brig. (Dr.) Rakesh Gupta, Director, GIMS Greater Noida, said:
