Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. is offering affordable access to AI models, including its Qwen 3.5 and models from other providers, through a coding tool built on open-source technology.
The company’s cloud unit is selling a lite version at a promotional price of 7.9 yuan (US$1.1) for the first month, then 40 yuan (US$5.82) monthly, and a pro version starting at 39.9 yuan (US$5.81) initially, then 200 yuan (US$29.11) per month.
The tool offers models from Alibaba and local startups Zhipu AI, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax Group, with users able to switch freely between them.
Alibaba recently updated its flagship AI model to Qwen 3.5, which supports AI agent tasks and can analyze text, images, and videos up to two hours long.
CEO Eddie Wu said a year ago that the company’s main goal is developing artificial general intelligence, marking a shift from Alibaba’s traditional focus on online commerce.
