Gurugram-based healthcare startup Oncare has raised 27 crore rupee (US$2.96 million) in a series A funding round led by Sky Impact Capital, with participation from Huddle Ventures, Lotus Herbal Group, Steerx, and Tremis Capital.
Oncare operates oncology departments within mid-sized, non-branded hospitals. The company aims to expand across India.
Oncare states it offers chemotherapy at about 40% lower costs than corporate hospitals, around 24,000-25,000 rupees (US$263,85 – US$274,87) per session, and surgeries at 30-40% lower prices. The company says it has served tens of thousands of patients since launch.
The startup plans to use the funds for geographic expansion and increasing its network of cancer care centers.
