Revathi Kamath Pens Autobiography Reflecting on Life Raising Zerodha Founders: “They Were Not Normal Kids”

Revathi Kamath, the mother of Zerodha co-founders Nithin and Nikhil Kamath, has announced that she is working on an autobiography that will candidly document her life’s journey—focusing particularly on the emotional and personal struggles she faced raising her two sons who would go on to become fintech pioneers.

The announcement came via a heartfelt Facebook post, where Kamath shared a video of herself singing a Kannada film song at a recent event. Alongside the video, she reflected on her early years of motherhood, sharing a deeply personal note that offered a rare glimpse into the Kamath family’s untold story.

“Within 10 months of marriage, my son Nithin was born and my life got completely dedicated to him and the family,” Kamath wrote. “Later, after a gap of 7 years, Nikhil was born. It was such a struggle to bring them up because they were not normal kids. Every day was a challenge.”

Known today as key figures behind Zerodha, one of India’s most successful fintech startups, Nithin and Nikhil Kamath have often credited their humble beginnings and upbringing as central to their values. Revathi Kamath’s upcoming book is expected to shed new light on the behind-the-scenes sacrifices and devotion that shaped the journey of the Kamath brothers—starting from their formative years.

She further noted, “My sons must know what I used to feed them, how I brought them up and all. Please wait and watch to know everything.”

Kamath’s candid reflections resonated deeply with her online audience, drawing admiration and praise from friends and well-wishers. Comments flooded in lauding her resilience, optimism, and unwavering love for her family.

“You are a bundle of energy and enthusiasm and you have an unlimited love for life! You radiate positivity around you,” commented one admirer.

Another added, “Your selfless love and devotion to your family are truly inspiring. You’re making a difference in their lives.”

As the Kamath brothers continue to leave a mark on India’s entrepreneurial and investment landscape, their mother’s voice promises to add a deeply human, emotional chapter to the narrative—one that speaks of love, struggle, and quiet determination behind their rise.

Revathi Kamath’s memoir is expected to offer not just insights into her life as a mother, but also serve as a poignant testament to the untold contributions of women who stand behind successful entrepreneurs.
