Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat, has named Pulkit Trivedi, a former Google executive, as the Managing Director for India. In his role, Trivedi will lead Snap’s operations in India, focusing on revenue growth, partner support, and nurturing the creator ecosystem. He will report to Ajit Mohan, Snap’s APAC President. As part of the company’s reorganization, teams responsible for growth, market development, partnerships, content, and the creator ecosystem will report directly to Trivedi. This localized structure aims to create unique experiences for Snap’s rapidly growing user base in India.
With over 23 years of experience in top technology companies, including leadership roles at Google and Meta, Trivedi has a strong background in building and scaling businesses. He spent the past five years as the director of Google Pay’s India Business Team.
“Pulkit’s deep expertise in building and scaling businesses and finding ways to drive outsized growth for partners will enable us to continue delighting our surging community of over 200 million Snapchatters in India,” said Mohan.
Commenting on the company’s new structure, he said, “Unifying our local teams under this new structure will set the right stage for making accelerated investments in India and enable us to further fuel the growth of our community and partners.”
Snap’s focus on India comes as the country has become a crucial market for the messaging app. In May, Snap announced that it had over 200 million monthly active Snapchatters in India, with more than 120 million users engaging with content across Stories and Spotlight. This move follows the hiring of Ajit Mohan from Meta (formerly Facebook) last year to lead Snap’s efforts in India.
