CapFort Ventures Launches Rs 200 Cr Tech Fund for Indian Market


CapFort Ventures, a prominent micro-VC fund, is excited to announce the launch of a Rs 200 crore India-focused technology fund. With a vision to support and invest in more than 40 startups across key technology domains, including deep tech, cleantech, B2B tech, logistics, healthtech, and other impact-oriented sectors, the fund aims to drive innovation and technological advancements over the next two years. 

The fund’s investment strategy focuses on companies with valuations within the range of Rs 100 crore, with a particular emphasis on the pre-Series A stage. The first close of the fund is anticipated to take place by the end of this year. 

CapFort Ventures aims to identify and invest in promising technology startups that possess the potential to develop solutions for Indian challenges. Abhimanyu Bisht, General Partner at CapFort Ventures, views the introduction of this fund as a strategic milestone for the firm. He stated, “At CapFort, our objective is not only to provide financial support but also to offer invaluable guidance and mentorship, empowering entrepreneurs to transform their vision into reality.”

The pre-Series A focused fund will have deal sizes ranging from Rs 2 crore to Rs 6 crore, with an average investment of Rs 3 crore to Rs 3.5 crore. CapFort Ventures intends to raise the majority of the capital from domestic investors, including institutional investors, family offices, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Notably, the fund has observed significant interest from investors based in Tier II cities.

CapFort Ventures is led by General Partners Abhimanyu Bisht, former CEO of Venture Catalysts, and Kavit Sutariya, Founder of Hiraco Ventures, with a collective investment experience of over 200 startups. Their investment portfolio predominantly consists of technology-based companies, with notable investments including Zingbus, AdOnMo, Basic Home Loan, Sheru, Hesa, ANS Commerce, Ethereal Machines, InShorts, Vidooly, Wellness Forever, Reshamandi, Chqbook, Melorra, Karkinos, Ketto, Inc42, FarEye, Pidge, Posist, and TrueMeds.
