Toprankers enters career guidance category with acquisition of ProBano
Toprankers, an edtech platform in India, has announced its acquisition of ProBano, a career guidance platform for high school students aged 13-18. The deal marks Toprankers’ entry into the career discovery and guidance category, with the company becoming a full-stack career platform from career discovery to landing the first job. The terms of the transaction, including the deal size, were not disclosed.
ProBano, based in New Delhi, has a proven track record of delivering valuable guidance and counselling to over 30,000 students across 24 states. The acquisition enables Toprankers to leverage ProBano’s expertise in career guidance and counselling to design a career discovery and experience platform that will enable high school students to explore their passions and offer skill-building opportunities across diverse career domains.
“Toprankers is committed to supporting the 90 per cent segment of the Indian K-12 market which doesn’t opt for engineering or medical science entrance exams. We have a legacy of enabling students to make informed career choices for a bright future. Leveraging ProBano’s expertise in career guidance and counselling, we will help the next 10 lakh to 1 crore high school students explore different career options, discover their passion and pursue it,” said Gaurav Goel, chief executive officer and co-founder of Toprankers.
As part of the acquisition, ProBano’s CEO, Aditya Bose, and his team of career guides and project managers will be integrated into Toprankers’ existing team. Additionally, Toprankers will harness ProBano’s expertise in implementing career discovery and experience programs with high school students associated with NGOs, CSR initiatives, and affordable private schools.

In line with its objective to deliver round-the-clock support to students, Toprankers has also unveiled its career discovery brand Toprankers Udaan. The platform aims to deliver extensive career guidance to class tenth, eleventh and twelfth and dropper students who were struggling with career-related uncertainties.
