Logistics start-up Porter expands two-wheeler business


Four more cities—Nagpur, Indore, Chandigarh, and Vadodara—have received the 2-wheeler logistics services offered by intra-city logistics company PorterIn the first six months, the business—which counts Tiger Global, Vitruvian, Sequoia, and Lightrock India among its investors—hopes to take 5% of the market. 

Porter, a last-mile intra-city logistics business that let clients book on-demand logistics services to send goods within their city, was founded by Pranav Goel, Uttam Digga, and Vikas Choudhary in 2014. For people moving residences, it also offers packers and movers services.

With this growth, Porter is now functioning in 16 locations, where it claims to service more than 50,000 customers and facilitate more than 1 lakh deliveries annually. 

Manish Gupta, Vice President of Porter said, “The launch of the 2-wheeler segment in these four regions is a strategic move towards shaping the logistics infrastructure of these markets and easing customers’ lives. Porter is committed to solving the logistic challenges and becoming the one-stop solution platform.” 

Porter raised Rs 750 crore in its Series E fundraising round, which was spearheaded by Tiger Global Management and Vitruvian Partners, last October. Sequoia Capital and Lightrock India, who were already investors, took part in the round.
