Apna’s revenue increases 3.8 X to Rs 63.9Cr in FY22, incurs fourfold losses


Job seekers’ professional networking platform Apna became one of India’s youngest unicorns last year, scooping up $170 million in FY22 to accelerate its growth.

The company’s revenue from operations increased 3.8X to Rs 63.9 crore during the fiscal year ending March 2022, compared to Rs 16.95 crore in FY21, according to the company’s annual financial statement filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). However, its losses increased fourfold during the same period.

As per reports, Apna makes the majority of its money by providing technical support to the holding company, which operates a platform for recruiters and job seekers. Revenue from the same increased more than threefold to Rs 63.87 crore in FY22, up from Rs 16.93 crore in FY21.

The company also offers recruitment solutions via its web platform and mobile application, and it has collected Rs 2 lakh from it. Interest on fixed deposits, current investments, and other non-operating income totaled Rs 1.87 crore in FY22, bringing total revenue to Rs 65.76 crore. 

Apan’s user base is over 30 million. As per its website, the platform has over 50 lakh jobs across 74 cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and so on. It was founded in the year 2019.
