BYJU’s anticipates a tripling of sales growth and a halving of losses in FY22

According to a senior corporate executive, edtech company BYJU’s forecasts its revenue to increase thrice and its losses to decrease by half in the fiscal year 2022.

At a startup event on Friday, BYJU’s founder and CEO Byju Raveendran justified choosing football player Lionel Messi as its worldwide ambassador despite layoffs at the firm, stating the choice was made six months prior.

With over 150 million learners, the firm, according to Raveendran, is well on its way to profitability as it anticipates revenue to increase by three times and losses to more than half in FY22.

For the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2021, the firm reported losses of 4,588 crore rupees and revenues of 2,428 crore rupees.

BYJU co-founder Divya Gokulnath had previously indicated the firm will be cutting off about 2,500 employees as it strives to become profitable by March 2023 and adds 10,000 more teachers to its present staff of 20,000.

About BYJU’s

When questioned about the company’s present atmosphere, Byju hinted that 261 of the 300 initial workers were still working there and were dedicated to its objective.

He said that four out of five integrations are executed flawlessly and are working properly.

BYJU’S has tripled in size, according to a company note.

He explained that the decision to choose Messi as its worldwide brand ambassador was made six months prior to the announcement that just so happened to coincide with the layoffs.

“It is absurd to even consider hiring Messi in 5-7 days. The decision to sign Messi was made six months ago, and the World Cup timeframe and restrictions prevented any postponement of the announcement “says he.
