How Ginesys is providing an omnichannel solution for the retail industry

The brand Ginesys began around 16 years ago, at that time, the retail sector was just getting started. There were no software programs that were restricted to the retail space. The corporation, hence, recognised the retailer’s need for a generic solution to meet his demands. Ginesys was founded with the sole intention of providing tailored solutions for the whole retail industry.
In 2006, after working on several consulting projects while running his own consulting business, Prashant founded Ginesys. And as he was doing so, he saw the necessity for a software program specifically tailored to the needs of shops. So far Ginesys has risen to the top of the mid-market retail solutions. His MBA studies, shrewd business sense, and broad perspective have made the company’s foundations robust.
The first of Ginesys’ two phases, Initiation, began in 2006 and consists of entities geared for offline merchants, such as a network of stores. However, the retailers need inventory management programmes that could handle both the administration of their stores’ operations and the complete supply chain.
The company’s new product Ginesys One, incorporates omnichannel solutions for both physical and online stores. Manyavar and V Mart are some of the company’s marquee clients.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, digitisation pushed retailer owners to go online. In the meantime, Ginesys too had to face some external as well as internal challenges. The challenges were mainly around offline retail as they had the maximum impact on the pandemic. And so it created a push for retailers to foray into the online sector. Ginesys also acquired “Browntape,” which deals in the online marketplace and e-commerce sites, which led to the formation of a complete omnichannel.
Ginesys mostly caters to fashion apparel and supermarkets and is a complete suite, having its own ERP application which runs as a backend engine and its point of sale solutions which run in the storefront, including its online order management system. The firm also has its own CRM solution, for which it acquired the company “CASA Retail.” This makes it the only company in India to offer such solutions and services.
Prashant, the founder, said, “Ginesys is doing innovations in warehouse management, warehouse automation, RFID, and personalization with the CRM point of view, which includes coupons, campaigns, and digital catalogues. The firm is looking to provide its customers with a customised experience, which would help in the long run.”
With a core team of 10–12 members, the team now consists of more than 325 individuals. The team has grown together and works closely with a close connection. The company has a pan-India presence. The company also has a healthy work environment, and the team has a common vision and common dream, which keeps them going forward.
Ginesys understands these business processes and what is required, as well as how product development can improve business management. As a result, the business has a distinctive mix of technical engineers and subject matter specialists.
Prashant said, “Unless there is a solid retail management solution on the backend, there won’t be a seamless customer experience. We have all seen the personalized customer experience online, but if someone gets the same sort of experience in an offline store, it will bring a different level of customer experience altogether. And so, this will only be possible if a company has a robust Retail Management Solution (RMS).”
Prashant said, “Ginesys would be a billion-dollar company and will become the leading retail-tech solution provider in India as well as on a global basis, which every retailer who wants to grow or scale should consider in the first place.”
He further mentioned, “The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) is opening up the opportunity to bridge the gap between the offline and online retailer sectors.”
On a special note to young entrepreneurs, Prashant elaborated, “One should think big and remain focused, and you will get the results. And nothing is impossible, since Ginesys also started small in the beginning and gradually expanded. There will be challenges along the path, but if one remains focused without having any distractions, then milestones can be achieved.
