Startup Story had a splendid opportunity of interviewing the man behind this big shot, Mr. Ashutosh himself. He is a human of great perseverance and knowledge with a very down to earth personality. Hard work, dedication and passion has made him climb the heights he never imagined he would.

Founding, growth and success: Beginning of the Organization

TechBairn came into being around September 2019 when Mr. Shandilya was in the fourth year of his college. He has done B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology. It is a private university in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The growth of the electronic sector had not been very vast in India, hence he started out by providing training in it. China covers 80% of it whereas the remaining 20% has been covered by other countries. India still has a lot to explore when it comes to electronic developmental progress. Back when he had just started there were not many institutes providing with the skill enhancement regarding the same. They just knew how to exploit their customers by charging them a huge sum of money.

Mr. Shandilya aimed at covering the gap between the netizens and the electronic sector by upskilling the level. Many students who wanted to grow in this field did not have the appropriate sources and support to do so hence he wanted to pull them out of this misery and help them explore the endless possibilities in the world of electronics. The team of TechBairn introduced the courses of IoT, Embedded and Robotics enrolling more than 500 students which proved to be a grand success for them at that point of time.

Set back of the merchandise and overcoming the problems  

After realizing the fact that he could cover a large scale audience via transforming into an online service mode, he expanded his business into the market. Such a product was needed to fulfill the depleted needs of the students who wanted to establish a career in the field of electronics. IT has always been a progressive field so he knew that his product would do pretty well in the market and it turned out to be a great success, surpassing the expectations. However the period of lockdown due to covid was proven to be a disastrous time not only for the country but for TechBairn as well. Electronic study was not possible to be conducted via online mode of classes because practical knowledge is very important to understand the working properly.

When the covid wave hit the country two of his batches were still in running, he had to convert it into an online mode of study as no other option was left. It became complex to manage things but somehow he was able to pull it off with the support of his team members and introducing courses which could also be understood well via online mode.

The team comprises highly qualified teachers who come from extremely professional backgrounds with a great deal of experience and intelligence. In the past one year TechBairn has collaborated with more than 25 Universities and colleges spanning across India including some renowned universities like NIT Durgapur, BIT Mesra, DTU, KIIT,  and Techno India. They are expanding their B2B business by collaborating with various College Training and Placement cells, upskilling their domains on various technical fronts. They want to collaborate with multiple universities opening student based communities (or chapters as they call it), giving them a taste for the industry at an early stage of their college life. Coming to the financial part, TechBairn is completely bootstrapped and has generated it’s own funds so far. By collaborating and welcoming new people with fresh ideas his team would be a good tactic to raise funds for the venture. Many junior students tend to follow the path of their seniors rather than exploring other possibilities which binds them to study the way their seniors did.
