Microsoft India announces on Wednesday two startup initiatives for the Indian startups to enable them to bring disruptive ideas to the Indian startups ecosystem.
Under its first initiative, the tech leader has introduced its second cohort of startups under Microsoft AI Innovate initiative. Microsoft India will be inviting applications from software-as-a-service (SaaS) startups. SaaS startups provide applications over the Internet, as a service, to their customers, using AI technologies.
Supported by SaaS Insider, the initiative is a 10-week programme, where the startups will tie up with Microsoft’s engineering and product teams to build their AI models.
The company stated that the selected startups will receive OpenAI preview and credits, access to industry and technology deep-dive sessions and AI masterclasses by experts, mentoring by startup founders and renowned industry leaders, skilling and certification opportunities, among other benefits. These initiatives will help them revolutionize and scale their businesses to newer heights.

The first cohort of 16 startups included the ones from fintech, manufacturing and logistics sectors and graduated last month.
Under its second initiative, Microsoft India is organizing a hackathon for startups in association with Techgig.
The startups can turn their most disruptive ideas into reality by using Azure masterclasses and hands-on training in technologies like Serverless, Kubernetes, Data Fundamentals, Java & .NET, Github and Azure AI & ML, among others.
The top 100 startups will be rewarded with $300 worth of Azure credits to build their prototype on Azure, whereas top 25 teams will become a part of the prestigious Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub Programme. The top three teams will win handsome cash prizes.
