Expertia AI, a deeptech virtual recruitment platform, has raised $1.2 million in a fundraising round led by Chiratae Ventures and Endiya Partners, with Entrepreneur First and angel investor Archana Priyadarshini also participating.
Entrepreneur First, a UK-based talent investor, has increased their pre-seed investment in the firm from last March. The funding will be used to build a team of artificial intelligence (AI) researchers and software developers, as well as raise brand and product awareness in India.
The HRTech software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform assists SMEs with hiring by determining the top 10 candidates from a pool of applicants sourced from more than 25 job boards. Expertia AI, founded by Akshay Gugnani and Kanishk Shukla in 2021, is used by over 500 firms, 1000 recruiters, and over 100k professionals to automate the sourcing of skilled people and appropriate employment.
Beyond a job description and résumé, the startup wants to collect and use publicly available meta data at scale to better understand business needs and hiring preferences, as well as present curated prospects for increased conversion and retention.
The startup, which operates in the Future of Work area, also hopes to take a piece of the over $500 billion spent annually on recruitment and related technology by businesses around the world. Expertia AI intends to provide organizations Skill Advisory solutions later this year.
