Big companies like Google, SpaceX cut off ties with Russian Media

With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine becoming more widespread, some of the world’s largest technology companies are stepping in to assist in any way they can.

Everyone is attempting to do their part, whether it’s a major data-based platform like Google, a tech expertise company like Microsoft, a satellite company like SpaceX, or even a product company like Apple.

Google’s Indian-born CEO, Sundar Pichai, recently tweeted a series of instructions that the company will follow to assist Ukraine and its inhabitants during the invasion.

Google Search has been changed to deliver SOS updates to Ukrainians in need of assistance, as well as direct them to vetted resources from the United Nations and other reputable organizations in the region.

Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook/Meta have all announced limits on Russian media accounts and ad spends. In Russia, there have even been certain restrictions on user interactions with platforms, apparently so that the platforms may take the time necessary to ensure that misinformation is not propagated through other channels.
