Proactive For Her, a women’s healthcare firm, raised $5.5 million in a Series A fundraising round headed by Vertex Ventures SEA and India and previous investor Nexus Venture Partners on Wednesday.
The money will be used to develop the startup’s digital product offering, construct a physical flagship clinic in Bengaluru, and grow its online client base, according to the company.
Achitha Jacob, an IIT-Bombay alumnus, created Proactive For Her in 2020 with the goal of delivering judgement-free, progressive, body-positive, LGBTQ affirmative, and trauma-informed healthcare services and consultations.
Currently, the firm provides menstrual health, sexual health, skin and hair care, and PCOS treatments both online and offline, through teleconsultation and its clinic, the first of which will open in Bengaluru.

The company has an in-house staff of physicians, therapists, and nutritionists that have helped over 5,000 women so far, with plans to help over a lakh more in the coming year.
Nexus Venture Partners and Enzia Ventures provided $1.2 million in early investment to the company. It has organised webinars on feminine health problems and given 1:1 coaching programs to female employees in collaboration with over 25 of India’s largest firms.
Teleconsultations, diagnostics, and long-term programs are the three main items of Proactive For Her. Consultations are available for as little as Rs 500, which helps the business stand out from the competition.
