Pankaj Tripathi, an actor, has invested in the agritech business Krishi Network
Krishi Network, an agritech platform, said on Thursday that Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi officially invested in the company. It did not say how much money Tripathi had put into the platform, which is connected to around 30 lakh farmers.
The new funding will be used to expand the startup’s AI-based technology platform around India and help it develop quickly, according to a statement.
According to Pankaj Tripathi, Being from a farming family, I’ve always been interested in supporting efforts that provide farmers with the knowledge to assist them to build their businesses.
Krishi Network, founded by IIT Kharagpur grads Ashish Mishra and Siddhant Bhomia, takes advantage of expanding rural internet penetration to provide a platform that makes information more accessible to farmers and allows them to make more money from their property. Agri brands, agri-input merchants, and other players in the agricultural supply chain have also joined the platform. At the moment the app is accessible in Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, and English language.
