Astroscale raises $109M in Series F funding
Japan-based Spacetech Astroscale raised $109 million in its Series F round of funding led by Japan’s THE FUND and included participation from investors like Seraphim Space. The funding will “dramatically accelerate [their] ability to make on-orbit servicing routine by 2030,” as per Astroscale CEO and founder Nobu Okada.
The company specializes in on-orbit servicing technology, created to reduce the amount of debris in operating orbital altitudes. This, additionally, also extends the life of existing satellites as a means of making orbital businesses more environmentally sustainable.
Astroscale’s last funding round ended with a raise of $51 million in October 2020. The present round of funding has brought total funding raised till date to $300 million.
