For Climate Change, Terraformation Raises Funding $30 Million Round Led By Sam Altman & Max at Apollo Projects.

When every other startup is trying to become a pioneer of one or the other thing, Terraformation is handling the issue which is significant to all of us, “Climate Change”. A forest tech startup, the aim is to accelerate tree plantation at an exponential rate by 2030. Forests are the most effective and natural carbon sinks. Restoring forest native at a large scale across the globe will reduce the massive carbon removal, reversing climate change, and number of other environmental benefits like ecosystem renewal and biodiversity. It’s first Restoration project began in Hawaii in 2019 where they were able to plant thousands of trees at a site called Pacific Flight.
For carbon offsetting, Terraformation has started a great initiative of planting trees. Furthermore, the company has received $30 million funding from different institutions in their funding round, including several institutional investors and nearly 100 angels, such as Lachy Groom, Sundeep Ahuja, Sahil Lavingia, Susan Wu, Joe Lonsdale and OVN Cap. The funding round was held by Sam Altman & Max at Apollo Projects.
Terraformation has planted thousands of trees with live projects in North America, South America, Europe, and Africa which it hopes will yield up to 20,000 replanted acres.
However, the startup is building software tools too — such as a mobile app to help with cataloging and monitoring seeds. But the really critical technologies involved, solar and desalination, are very much at the ‘tried and tested’ end of the tech scale.
