Roposo to enter online shopping with launch of creator-led live commerce
Consumer internet platform Roposo recently made its foray into the sphere of online shopping with creator-led live entertainment commerce. The new platform will boast an intersection of creators, content, and commerce.
Talking about the situation, Piyush Shah, co-founder InMobi group and President and COO, Glace commented, “Our intent is to build the largest platform for creator-led live shopping in India, and take it to Southeast Asia and the US, in the coming quarters. There is a rising global demand for immersive shopping experiences that closely replicate the offline world, online.”
Initially a short video platform, Roposo was acquired by the InMobi Group in 2019. It has since gathered a user base of 30 million monthly active users and over 500 thousand creators and more than 2000 merchants.
The new platform will allow content creators to be the main driving force of live commerce, reportedly, allowing space for and encouraging entrepreneurship.
“While we have several big celebrities, the real hero for Roposo will be creators; be it the young fashion designer from Mangalore who wants to live-stream her collection on Roposo and sell nationwide on her own pop store, or the indie rapper from Punjab who wants to reach millions through a ticketed concert,” said Mansi Jain, Vice President and General Manager, Roposo.
