73 Startup attends Digital India BHASHINI to form Strategy For AI-Led Language Translation Platform

On Tuesday, The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) held a virtual brainstorming session to develop a strategy for Digital India BHASHa INterface for India (BHASHINI), India’s AIled language translation platform.
Notably, representatives from 73 startups attended the meeting.
Addressing the virtual gathering, Minister of State for MeitY Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, “Whereas BharatNet & 5G shall catalyze the ‘connecting all Indians’ to internet goal, initiatives like BHASHINI shall ensure that the citizens consume the internet and digital government services in their languages.”

At the Virtual Rally, Minister of State MeitY Rajeev Chandrasekhar said: As part of the Native Language initiative, the Center will work with the state government and other agencies to develop products in the Indian language. The government also attended the AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) conference for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), start-ups, and providing these services, with many startups working in the field of Indian languages.
