UpScalio was founded in April 2021 by Saaim, Gautam Kshatriya, and Nitin Agarwal, and it uses the eCommerce roll-up concept pioneered by Thrasio in the United States. The company buys majority ownership in digital-first brands that sell on e-commerce marketplaces and scales them with in-house expertise in supply chain optimization, marketing, and other areas, allowing the brands’ founders to depart gradually. In August 2021, the firm raised $42.5 million in a Series A round of funding from Presight Capital and others.
UpScalio focuses on utility brands, as opposed to fashion and lifestyle brands, which are managed by competitor Mensa Brands, and FMCG, nutrition, and lifestyle brands, which are handled by GlobalBees. In 2021, Mensa and GlobalBees were both valued at over $1 billion, making them startup unicorns.

According to a statement released by UpScalio, the firm has acquired majority ownership in four new companies in the electronics accessories, laptop bags, and kitchenware areas. With this addition, UpScalio now has a total of 13 brands in its portfolio.
Gizga, a computer and laptop accessory business, Tizum, a mobile accessory brand, and AirCase, a laptop bag manufacturer, are among the new additions, as is HomePuff, a kitchenware brand. iStuff, a Mumbai-based company created by Dinesh Vardhan, Vikram Vardhan, and Amit Hingarh, owns the brands.
