The online platform for higher education upGrad made the announcement on Monday that they would be investing $30 million and opening 10 worldwide campuses. These campuses will be located in the United States, India, and other locations.
Under the new brand name ‘UGDX,’ the firm has announced that it would build five campuses in India (Delhi and Chennai), three campuses in the United States (the San Francisco branch will begin operations in January), and one campus each in Singapore and the Middle East.
“This is a natural extension as we move to a very scaled blended offline and online model under our own upGrad brand,” said Ronnie Screwvala, Co-founder and Chairperson, upGrad. “As part of our goal to be the world’s first and largest fully integrated higher edtech company spanning college learners and working professionals from the age of 18 to 60+ years, this is a natural extension as we move to a very scaled blended offline and online model,” said Ronnie Screw.

At the moment, the business operates facilities in the cities of Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
Upgrad intends to leverage technology to seamlessly connect campuses, faculty, and corporates into a single ecosystem as part of its ‘UGDX’ initiative. This initiative will also include the recruitment of faculty members in a variety of geographic locations.
“UGDX” will provide certifications, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate programmes in the following subject areas: artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning; cybersecurity; Blockchain; linked devices; Internet of Things; quantum computing; digital management; leadership courses; and the cloud.
The Data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning-focused offline institution known as ‘INSOFE‘ was recently bought by ‘UGDX.’
“Rich interactions with industry links will also help our learners to get started right away with experiences that are relevant to the real world. When compared to other types of programmes, every one of our courses includes at least twice as many capstones and other types of project work “upGrad INSOFE’s Founder and CEO, Dr. Dakshinamurthy Kolluru, who will also serve as the leader of the UGDX, made the announcement.
UpGrad’s learner base spans more than 100 countries and more than three million students, and the company collaborates with more than 300 universities.
