Silicon Road Ventures partners Ajay Mahajan to float Rs 150 Cr AI fund

Venture capital fund Silicon Road Ventures (SRV) has partnered with Ajay Mahajan to launch an alternative investment fund (AIF) focused on early-stage startups building agentic AI solutions in the B2B commerce technology space.
According to Mahajan, these solutions will target areas such as multi-channel commerce, supply chain and logistics, fintech, consumer insights, and retail operations. The AIF, with a corpus of Rs 150 crore, has received Category-II registration from Sebi.
Founded in 2019 by Sid Mukherjee, Silicon Road Ventures is a venture capital firm that specialises in early-stage (Seed to Series A) investments in commerce technology, including retail, e-commerce, and CPG. With more than 46 investments, the firm focuses on innovative technologies across fintech, supply chain, and AI, often partnering with academic institutions.
Mukherjee has also set up a fund with his alma mater, BITS Pilani, and Kennesaw State University to provide non-dilutive funding to startups founded by students from the two institutions.
Prior to SRV, Mukherjee was the co-founder and CEO of Software Paradigms International (SPI), a company that provided technology solutions to retail businesses. SPI was acquired by IT services giant Cognizant in 2018.
