Payment Firm Fiuu Unveils Apple’s Tap to Pay for Singapore Merchants
- ByStartupStory | December 2, 2025
Fiuu, a Southeast Asia-focused payments provider, has launched support for Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhone feature, enabling Singaporean merchants to accept contactless payments directly using their iPhone without the need for additional hardware like card readers or terminals. The service operates through the Fiuu Virtual Terminal app available on iOS, compatible with iPhone XS and newer models.
With Tap to Pay on iPhone, merchants can accept payments from contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets simply by holding the customer’s payment device near the merchant’s iPhone, leveraging NFC technology for secure transactions. The platform also supports PIN entry and accessibility options.
This rollout aims to help small businesses, from street vendors to large retailers, by providing an easy-to-use payment acceptance method that can be deployed anywhere, freeing them from traditional fixed payment terminals. Merchants can activate the feature within minutes by installing the Fiuu Virtual Terminal app and registering their account.
Early adopters include companies like Razer, IDS Aesthetics Clinic, and Beutea, which use Fiuu’s system with POS partner Zeoniq for seamless checkout experiences. Fiuu’s CEO Eng Sheng Guan stated that this development empowers businesses to serve customers flexibly wherever interactions happen, expanding commerce beyond physical store fronts.
Tap to Pay on iPhone benefits from the security and privacy features built into Apple hardware and software. Apple does not store card information or transaction data on its servers, ensuring customer data confidentiality. Encrypted card numbers are temporarily stored on the device only during secure processing in Store and Forward mode.
This launch positions Fiuu as one of the initial payment platforms in Singapore empowered by Apple to offer Tap to Pay, joining others like Adyen, Stripe, Revolut, HitPay, and Zoho. Ride-hailing giant Grab is expected to support the feature in early 2026.
By integrating Tap to Pay on iPhone, Fiuu strengthens its commitment to providing inclusive digital payment infrastructure across Southeast Asia, simplifying acceptance for merchants and enhancing consumer payment convenience with a familiar Apple-driven experience.
