Funding Alert

Logistics platform TrucksUp raises $8.2 Mn in growth round

TrucksUp has raised $8.2 million, or approximately ₹78.26 crore, in a growth funding round at a post-money valuation of $42.3 million. The round saw participation from institutional investors and family offices, while co-founders Sarthak Shah Elwadhi and Aviraj Singh Chadha also increased their stake in the company.

Founded in 2022, Gurugram-based TrucksUp operates an AI-driven digital freight marketplace designed to improve the way goods are transported across India. The platform connects truck owners, fleet operators, and drivers directly with businesses that need to move freight

India’s trucking industry remains highly fragmented, with transporters often relying on phone calls, brokers, and informal networks to find loads. This can make the process slow and inefficient for both truck owners and businesses. TrucksUp is trying to bring more structure to this system by allowing transporters to find and book freight digitally.

The platform can help businesses identify available trucks, compare options, arrange bookings, and track shipments. For truck owners and fleet operators, it can provide better access to loads and potentially reduce the time their vehicles remain idle.

The company’s AI-based system is intended to improve freight matching by connecting the right truck with the right shipment based on factors such as route, vehicle type, availability, and timing. Better matching can help reduce empty trips, improve truck utilisation, and lower transportation costs.

The latest funding will be used to scale TrucksUp’s technology and fleet solutions. The company plans to strengthen its core platform, improve its freight-matching capabilities, expand product and data-science teams, and support working-capital requirements.

Technology alone, however, cannot solve every problem in logistics. TrucksUp will need to build strong relationships with truck owners, fleet operators, manufacturers, and businesses that regularly move goods. The platform will become more valuable as more users join, but convincing traditional transporters to adopt digital tools may take time

Trust will also be important. Businesses want reliable vehicles, predictable delivery schedules, transparent pricing, and real-time visibility. Truck owners, meanwhile, need timely payments, steady access to loads, and protection from cancellations or disputes. TrucksUp will need to maintain service quality on both sides of the marketplace.

As the network grows, the company will also have to manage technology, customer support, verification, payments, insurance, and operational coordination. Logistics is a high-volume business where even small delays can affect costs and customer relationships.

The participation of the co-founders in the round is notable because it reflects their continued confidence in the company’s long-term potential. Their increased stake also gives them a stronger financial interest in building a sustainable business.

TrucksUp operates in a competitive logistics-technology market that includes digital freight platforms, transport-management software companies, fleet-service providers, and large logistics operators. Its differentiation will depend on the accuracy of its technology, the strength of its network, and the financial benefits it creates for customers.

The $8.2 million funding gives TrucksUp the resources to expand its platform and fleet solutions while developing the technology behind its marketplace. Its long-term success will depend on whether it can make freight booking simpler, reduce inefficiencies, improve truck utilisation, and build lasting trust in India’s traditional trucking ecosystem.
